Whilst the winery is listed as being from the Hilltops, the fruit could
really come from anywhere for this bubbly. A crisp, fruit driven yet classically
dry base wine, with some nutty yeasty overtones indicating that whoever put this
together knew a thing or two about what makes a good
sparkling.
De Bortoli Willowglen Brut NV (NSW)
A very refreshing,
easy drinking sparkling wine displaying fresh, fruit flavours and a creamy

trade, this soft sparkler is designed for early drinking. Tyrrell’s Premium Brut
is a popular wine, displaying full, rich flavours and a rounded palate.
What really sets this sparkler
apart from its competitors though is the addition of some aged wine in the
blend, which lends an extra degree of richness and
weight.
Kissing Bridge Sparkling Cuvee NV (Victoria)
A
product of the very switched on Cheviot Bridge Wine Company, this sherbety
sparkling is crafted from the traditional varieties of Chardonnay and Pinot Noir
and made in a largely serious style yet it receives a sweeter dosage at the end,
making for a very drinkable softer styled sparkling.
Tyrrells Ashmans Brut NV (Hunter Valley,
NSW)
'The colour is a medium yellow and the nose shows
full, clean Semillon, lifted citrus and some straw notes. On the palate these
flavours are added to with toasty, yeast characters gained in the winemaking
process. An excellent celebratory alternative to the mainstream sparklings,
particularly for people looking for a drier taste.'
