This fine Shiraz has a deep and inky colour, typical of the Hilltops, and the nose offers aromas of dark berry fruits and fragrant spices. The palate is rich and concentrated, with a complex array of blackberry, violet, spice and black pepper flavours, integrated with soft, fine-grained tannins. Cellar up to 10 years.
Notes from Moppity Vineyards
'This is the wine to bring Moppity into the hearts and minds of
general consumers. It’s cropped at just 2 tonne/acre and
includes 2 percent co-fermented viognier. It’s very young and needs an
hour in the decanter, but thereafter …
This baby really sings. It’s got spice
and flesh, sweet blueberried fruit and floral overtones. It’s complex
and seductive at once. I had a question mark over its persistence at
first – but with air it slowly uncoiled. It’s got good length, excellent
drinkability and an array of flavours. Tannins massage impressively
through the finish. Bonza red.'
